Welcome to Kate Takes Care!

About Kate

Kate Takes Care founder (Kate S.) holds a B.A. in psychology from Indiana University, which has consistently been ranked one of the top psychology programs in the United States. She has over 8 years of experience as an infant + toddler nanny, is a sleep training expert, and newborn care specialist. Kate is  planning to pursue her master's in counseling and, potentially, a degree in midwifery as her coaching business continues to grow. 

Support for all stages of pregnancy + postpartum

KTC supports all kinds of parents through all of the early stages of parenting. Kate is particularly focused on pregnancy and postpartum coaching and new mom coaching. All coaching will be customized to your mental & emotional health needs and Kate will meet you exactly where you are in terms of practical knowledge. 

Informative, not overwhelming

Kate has worked with many parents of newborns, infants, and toddlers, in families of all sizes and from a variety of backgrounds. Her goal is to support you in feeling calm + confident throughout your parenthood journey and prioritize the mental and emotional health of new and expecting mothers. More practical infant/child care advice and expertise regarding development is also consistently available.

Extras

Handouts + Templates

Handouts and templateswill vary slightly depending on your selected package. For example, if you are currently postpartum, you will not need information regarding birth planning. However, Kate will take into account where you are in your parenting journey and provide all relevant and helpful documents to you.  These may include, but are not limited to: Birth Setting Options + Info, Birth Planning, Hospital Bag Necessities, Perineal Care Postpartum, Feeding 101, Support System Template, Medical + Emergency Info Template, Tummy Time, Development + Milestones, Early Education Info, Childcare Options + Pros/Cons of Each, Self-Advocacy Scripts, Exclusive Journaling Prompts, Suggested Reading List

Baby Registry + Suggested Products

Kate will provide a link to her favorite products based on her personal experience, reviews, and the materials used which ensure the highest level of safety and comfort for your baby. Customized, personal baby registries available for an additional fee, and Kate will take into account your personal preferences when it comes to style, colors, aesthetic, and priorities such as use for use for multiples (twins, triplets, or siblings), eco-friendly, your diapering and feeding methods, etc.

Nursery + Playroom Design Assistance

 Kate's expert knowledge regarding infant + toddler development, early childhood educational approaches (such as Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, etc.), color psychology, and child safety related to all kinds of products and materials gives her the ability to assist you in designing a nursery and/or playroom that will best support your child's development, creativity, learning, and safety.
